In the spirit that comes with a new year — new projects, new possibilities, New World Order (if you’re into that sort of thing) — we’re highlighting a neighbor’s massive new healthcare expansion.
When Advocate Health Care opened their new care tower on Chicago’s North Side, they told us they wanted people to see how patients and medical staff would feel in the place. The angles, curves, and colors of the spaces were designed for soothing and healing.
We also needed to show that this highly advanced medical technology was accessible right in the heart of the city.
To make a video that checked these boxes, we kept the camera in constant, but gentle motion. The shape of a room can best be shown by smoothly changing the viewer’s perspective.
We also wanted to see the Chicago skyline, because our city has a therapeutic effect on most people. Balancing the light of both inside and out was vital to demonstrate the patient experience.
While our challenges in the lighting and camera areas were fairly routine, it was the extraordinary collaboration across a wide range of Advocate departments that was the key to getting this project done.
From the construction crews, to the Nurse Leaders of six different medical specialties, from IT, to Public Safety, all racing a deadline, the whole organization accommodated to ensure Marketing got what they needed.
